Dupont Lions Club is accepting applications for the Hometown Heroes Banner Program.
These street banners are designed to honor active duty military, retirees and veterans from Dupont who honorably served or continue to serve the United States of America. Banner dimensions are 30 inches wide by 60 inches high and will include a picture of the service member in uniform, their branch of service and their era of service. Family members must provide a photo, which may be black and white or color. For a visual example, please have a look at one of the existing banners currently on display in Dupont.
Lions Club members and volunteers will install banners along the streets of Dupont, including Main, Chestnut and Ziegler streets and Pittston Avenue. All efforts will be made to have the banners hung prior to Memorial Day and they will remain up until its sponsor requests that it be taken down.
The sponsorship for each banner is $200, payable when submitting a sponsorship form. The sponsor’s name(s) will be displayed on the bottom of the banner. Sponsorship forms are available at the Dupont Borough Building, the Dupont Veterans of Foreign Wars or from any Dupont Lions Club member. Please return you application as soon as possible so the club can have them ready for display on Memorial Day.
The Dupont Lions Club extends its heartfelt thank you to all our military service men and women for their selfless service to our great country!
